17/5 HBO’s “Girls'” Actor Nick Lashaway Killed in Framingham Car Crash

Actor Nick Lashaway is best known for his role on the HBO original series “Girls,” as well as his roles in movies such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin with Steve Carell, and other films alongside stars such as Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake.  While he was only 28-years-old and had what appeared to be a promising career ahead of him, unfortunately that will not be the case, since he was recently killed in a tragic car crash in Framingham, Massachusetts, according to a news feature from Boston.com.

nightmotorwaylightsAuthorities say they were called to the scene of a three-car accident in the Boston suburb of Framingham, Massachusetts. It was actually a retired Framingham police officer and two of his sons that came upon the crash site and dialed 911.  When they approached the three-car accident, they saw that one of the vehicles, a Jeep, was on fire.  This was Nick Lashaway’s vehicle, and he was still behind the wheel as the car continued to burn.

The retired police officer and his two sons were able to pull Lashaway out of this burning vehicle and started to perform CPR on the victim as they waited for first responders to arrive with an ambulance.

There were also to two other drivers that suffered personal injuries as result of this fatal Framingham car accident.  There were two nurses that lived nearby the crash site and also came out to offer assistance when they heard the noise from the accident. They provided towels to the other drivers to stop the bleeding, and one of the nurses assisted with performing CPR on Lashaway.

One of the police officers who was the first to arrive on the scene had an automatic external defibrillator (AED) in his car that was used on Lashaway in attempt to keep him alive.  When the paramedics arrived, they attempted to stabilize the victim and transported him to a local level one trauma center.  Unfortunately, his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead soon after arriving at the medical center.

The other two victims were injured, but the extent of their injuries is not known as of this time.  The Framingham police have not yet released the cause of this fatal car accident, as they are still conducting an investigation.  In the case of a fatal car accident in Massachusetts, it is likely that the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) accident investigation team will assist local authorities in conducting a full investigation and in doing an accident reconstruction if necessary.  It is also likely that the Office of the State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on the decedent, complete with toxicology, to rule out intoxication and determine a cause of the fatal car accident.

One thing to keep in mind is that while the authorities will often conduct a thorough investigation, their interests are not necessarily completely in line with your interest in obtaining a full and appropriate financial recovery following a serious or fatal traffic accident.
