Teen Driver Seriously Injured in Massachusetts Crash

One of the most dangerous things that can happen during in a car accident is a person being ejected from the vehicle. This can often result in serious personal injury or death.  According to a recent news article from The Patriot Ledger, one teen was severely injured after being ejected from a car in Quincy, just outside of Boston.

police lineAuthorities have said the crash involved two cars and occurred a few minutes before 3 p.m. One vehicle was being driven west when the driver left the appropriate lane of travel and crossed over the center median, facing opposing traffic head-on.  At this point, the sedan crashed into a Jeep.  There were two occupants in the sedan.  One of those in the sedan was a teen, who was ejected from the vehicle.  The teen was severely injured and rushed to Boston Medical Center for treatment.  His condition is unknown, but his injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The other occupant in the sedan was also injured to an unknown degree, but he was rushed to a local level-one trauma center in Boston following the serious car accident. Authorities have not said which of the teen victims of the Boston car crash was driving, and which one was the passenger.  Fortunately, it does not appear that anyone in the jeep was injured.

The police were not immediately sure why the teens’ vehicle left its lane of travel and crossed over into the direction of opposing traffic.  They did however immediately begin and investigation into the cause of the crash.

As our Boston car accident attorneys can explain, in some cases, there is no question as to who is at fault in a car accident. Insurance companies and car accident lawyers call these clear liability cases. If you were injured in a clear liability accident, your attorney will often only have to fight for the amount of money that you will be receiving, but the insurance company will generally not try to defend liability in one of these cases, because they know that for them it would be a losing endeavor.

In other cases, while you may know that the other diver was at fault, the police many not have come to the scene, or they may not have agreed with your determination as to who was at fault.  This does not mean that you do not have a case, but it does mean that you will need to see an experienced car accident lawyer as soon as possible so that he or she can get his or her private investigator working on your case.  This will allow the investigator to go out the scene while it is still the same time of year and while the events are still fresh in witnesses’ minds.   It will also allow the investigator to access any traffic camera footage or the recordings from store surveillance cameras before it is erased.
