Calvin Harris, a world famous DJ from Scotland was recently injured in a car accident and has canceled several planned shows as he recovers from his injuries, according to a news feature from E Online.  Authorities say the accident involved an SUV in which Harris was a passenger and Volkswagen Beetle being driven by a teenage girl.

dj-set-1427783It has been alleged that the teen driver was operating her motor vehicle along a narrow canyon roadway, of which there are many in the Los Angeles area, when she crossed over the center line into the opposing lane of traffic.  Her vehicle crashed into the SUV at high rate of speed.  Authorities also have said the female driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the serious car accident, was thrown from the vehicle, and, after being ejected, hit the ground with enough force that she reportedly broke her pelvis.  There were other passengers in her car, but it is unknown at this time if any of the other people in her car were injured in the serious motor vehicle crash. A 39-year-old woman was recently killed in a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Acton, Massachusetts, according to a recent news feature from the Acton Patch.  The crash occurred when the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole at what his estimated to be a high rate of speed.

caraccident6Authorities say victim was sitting in the passenger seat of the 2008 Saturn when it veered off the road and hit the utility pole.  The driver of the vehicle was her husband, and he was also seriously injured in what turned out to a fatal, single-vehicle car crash. Continue reading

According to a recent news feature from Mass Live, a single-car crash occurred this past Thursday during the rush hour in Milford, Massachusetts and resulted in the death of the 39-year-old driver.

caraccident3Massachusetts State Police (MSP) troopers and other first responders were called to the scene following the deadly car accident on Interstate 495.   Authorities are not yet sure why the accident occurred, but witnesses say the car was traveling south when the driver appeared to lose control of the vehicle.  The vehicle then drove off the roadway and into the median dividing the two directions of traffic.  Continue reading

According to a recent news report from the Boston Herald, pregnant woman was it by a car in a two-vehicle accident and is now in critical care at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).  This woman is 24-years-old.  While every accident is different, as the facts are never the same, this accident appears to be very far from an “accident” by any meaning of the word, based upon charges filed against alleged at-fault driver by local police and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

Car crash--25-4-10-007Authorities have said the driver, who is the same age as the victim, was driving his vehicle when he crashed into the victim’s Jeep in a manner that is alleged to be intentional.  Police arrested alleged at-fault driver following the serious car accident and charged him with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (ABDW).  In this case, the dangerous weapon is alleged to be his vehicle.  While we typically think of a dangerous weapon as gun or a knife, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a dangerous weapon can be an item designed as a weapon, like a gun or knife, but it can also be any ordinary item, so long as it is being used as a weapon.  For example, if someone kicks a victim while wearing a shoe, in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, that can be charged as assault with a dangerous weapon, with the weapon being a “shod foot.”  In this case, it is alleged that the car is the dangerous weapon, which his actually quite common. Actor Nick Lashaway is best known for his role on the HBO original series “Girls,” as well as his roles in movies such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin with Steve Carell, and other films alongside stars such as Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake.  While he was only 28-years-old and had what appeared to be a promising career ahead of him, unfortunately that will not be the case, since he was recently killed in a tragic car crash in Framingham, Massachusetts, according to a news feature from Boston.com.

nightmotorwaylightsAuthorities say they were called to the scene of a three-car accident in the Boston suburb of Framingham, Massachusetts. It was actually a retired Framingham police officer and two of his sons that came upon the crash site and dialed 911.  When they approached the three-car accident, they saw that one of the vehicles, a Jeep, was on fire.  This was Nick Lashaway’s vehicle, and he was still behind the wheel as the car continued to burn.  Continue reading

According to a recent news report from Mass Live, a defendant was arrested after he allegedly fled the scene of serious traffic accident in Holyoke, Mass. The accident from which he allegedly fled was a multiple-car accident with several personal injury victims.policeline

Authorities have said the driver was operating his motor vehicle when he lost control of the car for reasons unknown at this time, and headed towards an exit ramp from Interstate 91 in the wrong direction.  Once he reached the ramp, he crashed into a car that was headed down the ramp off the highway.   After allegedly hitting this first vehicle, he put the car in reverse to get away from the scene of this accident and supposedly crashed into another vehicle.  Continue reading

As we get closer to summer, we are likely to see more serious car accidents involving teen drivers.  With the warm weather and high school students out of school, and the amount of new drivers on the road, this annual spike in teen auto auto accidents has become an annual phenomenon known as the “Hundred Deadliest Days of Teen Driving.”teens

While we aren’t quite into the 100-day period that runs roughly from Memorial Day to Labor Day, there will likely be a gradual increase in the amount of teen driving accidents leading up to that point.  According to a recent news feature, a 17-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital following a serious single vehicle crash.  It is believed that her injuries are life-threatening.  Continue reading

According to a recent report from The Boston Herald, eight people were sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.  The accident happened in front of a local restaurant and involved a Nissan Altima and a Honda Accord.caraccident3

Authorities have said the accident occurred prior to four in the afternoon when the driver of the Honda Accord was trying to turn into the restaurant parking lot.  Allegedly, the driver of the Honda cut off the other driver when trying to pull into the lot, and this caused the Nissan to crash into the rear of the Honda. According to recent news from CBS Boston, three people were injured when a car crashed into a barber shop in Mattapan.  Witnesses say the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. and this was not an accident in the typical sense.

barber-pole-1227109It is being reported that a man was being chased by the driver of an SUV who was allegedly trying to kill him.  A witness has said the man being chased by the SUV ran into a local barber shop to avoid being run over by the car.  Unfortunately for this man, the driver of the SUV crashed his vehicle into the barbershop on purpose and hit the man he was allegedly chasing.  The intended victim was hit by the SUV and became trapped beneath it.  Continue reading

Georgetown is a small community located in Essex County along what is commonly referred to as Boston’s North Shore.  Most of the people who live in the town also work there or are retired.  A small portion of the residents commute to Boston on a regular basis, and this number is actually increasing as more people are leaving the city as real estate prices become too expensive for the average family and people are more willing to drive or take the commuter rail to work.
